Content caching

The Content Caching screen setting applies only to screens with the Android Phygital Signage Player app installed.

Specify a time period for content preloading with this setting.

Changing content caching period

1. Open the screen page
2. Click the Content Caching field
3. Enter a new value
4. Save changes

Value types

• Empty field Recommended

Leave the field empty for immediate automatic downloading of all new content added to the screen’s playlists.

This is the default setting for all new screens.

• 0 hours

If you set this value, the player will preload only the content required for the currently scheduled playlist and delete all other cached data.

Use this option if the device has limited storage space.

• 1 hour or more

If you specify a particular number of hours (e.g., 5), the player will preload the content needed for playback during that period (e.g., next 5 hours), while deleting the content not required within that timeframe.

Use this option if the device has limited storage space.

Attention!

With “0 hours” and “1 hour or more” values, devices with multiple playlists will consume significantly more bandwidth. With the “Empty field” value, the player caches all content at once.
